The Framework for P-12 Engineering Learning has been published as a practical guide for developing coherent, authentic, and equitable engineering learning initiatives/programs across schools. This guide includes a definition of the three-dimensions of engineering learning, principles for guiding pedagogical practice, and common learning goals toward achieving engineering literacy for all.
Accordingly, this ITEEA STEMinar will:
- Provide a brief introduction to the contents of the framework.
- Explore how the highlighted engineering concepts/pedagogical approaches compliment and support Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy to influence more immediate and purposeful instructional practice.
- Examine ways in which how this framework has been used in high schools to provide increased relevance and rigor into the Career & Technical Education pathways.
- Highlight instructional materials (i.e., engineering performance matrices and sample lesson plans) to teach engineering, with increased sophistication over time, within socially-relevant and culturally-situated contexts.
This STEMinar is free for ALL!
