AeroEducate: Aviation Themed Integrative STEM Resources

Learn about AeroEducate - a platform developed by the Experimental Aircraft Association as a resource for educators and students. This presentation will discuss the development of the industry and higher education relationship and share standards aligned aviation-themed Integrative STEM resources for K-12 educators.
Kevin Sutton, Ed.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Appalachian State University. Sutton earned a Bachelor of Science in technology education from North Carolina State University, a master's degree in education from Virginia Tech University, and an Ed.D. in Technology Education from NC State. Prior to Appalachian, Sutton was an assistant teaching professor at NC State. Sutton has been working with a team on the development of hands-on Aviation-themed Integrative STEM Activities for the AeroEducate program. This program has free resources for students and educators to open up interest and pathways to careers in aviation.
Laura Doyle is an Engineering and Design teacher at Westfield High School in New Jersey. She earned her BS from The College of New Jersey and her MAEd and EdS from Virginia Tech. She has an extensive background in middle and high school classrooms and has served as an integral part of research teams. Recently, she has been a core member of the AeroEducate activity development and testing team.
